Happy birthday, light a candle

Bobbi's birthday is next saturday but I won't be here for it. I'll be in Las Vegas. Not to worry because I planned ahead by going to Tiffanys and buying her a necklace which I hid in my bottom drawer in the bedroom. My plan was to call her from Vegas on Saturday and tell her where the present is. Or it was, because this morning Mac found it and brought it to Bobbi.

To be honest, I had been torn between how to give her the gift anyway. Part of me wanted to give it her before I left, in a quiet romantic moment. Part of me wanted to call from Vegas and let her find it as a surprise. The one option I had not considered was giving it to her shortly after returning from the gym, hot, sweaty and in the middle of taking a morning shit. Ahh, the romance.

Random Thoughts

One of my many annoying habits is the one where I feel obligated to tell everyone that the one-dollar bill is a huge waste of money. Actually, it starts with the "get rid of the penny" diatribe and quickly moves into the "dollar coin beats dollar bill" monologue. Therefore, I was very pleased to pick up the latest issue of Details today and see a blurb that listed the exact amount of money that the U.S. Treasury would save annually if they replaced the bill with the coin.

It's 747 million dollars.

Yesterday at Target I picked up a pack of "Uno" cards while in line at the check-out counter (I wanted to see what the recommended age was for learning the game.) Unfortunatly, the pack that I picked up was a spanish pack and all the writing on the package was in spanish.

If it's a spanish pack of "Uno" cards, shouldn't it be called "One?"
